During Daesh’s illegal occupation of towns and cities in Iraq and Syria, they executed many for minor infractions and without and real legal system to oversea cases. In these documents are examples of individuals who were killed often for the crime of “apostasy”. What is interesting is that the group then placed many of these names on a list of “Martyrs”. If Daesh had taken these people to be apostates it seems to show a high degree of hypocrisy in their administration. The reason would appear to be a way for the criminal group to increase their numbers of “martyrs” on paper, making it appear they had more dedicated members than was true.
