Al Naba was founded by Ahmad Abosamra and Abu Muhammad al Furqan at least going back to 2014 but with its earliest incarnations being published in 2011. It has long been at the forefront of Daesh’s media campaign with close to 400 weekly editions being published up until this point. It contains news updates, battlefield statistics and the occasional poorly written essay regarding the groups criminal activities around the globe.
In recent times with Daesh continually getting weaker and weaker, the publications quality has slipped. Most recently it seems that the production cannot even get beyond 8 pages in length! It has consistently stayed at 12 pages throughout the years, so why the shortfall now? Speculation is arising that it is due to the disruption or deaths of some of its editors due to the tragic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. A fact made even more ironic by the Daesh members who have been hailing these tragic events as “Gods punishment for Turkeys activities.”

Ultimately it seems clear that the decline of Daesh is now playing out in their media production. Once a well skilled and organized media office with Al-Furqan, Al-Bayan, Al-Hayat, Al-Ajnad media offices producing high quality productions. Now the ragged collective that is left is struggling to keep a 12 page news letter in circulation!
